Gumbet is a holiday resort created to provide the usual facilities expected from a beach holiday. Unlike nearby Bodrum, Gumbet has a long beach curving around a bay and the space for the hotels and apartments required to accommodate the package holiday industry.
The center of Gumbet comes alive at night with several kilometers of rope lights in every conceivable color stretched around the outlines of almost every building, restaurant and disco bar. Flashing neon lights complete the picture in a final attempt to lure the passing tourists.

Entertainment Gumbet is home to hundreds of bars, restaurants and clubs, and for even more choice, head to Bodrum for a fun night out. For something different, Turkish Nights are popular, featuring local food and drink such as meze, and plenty of authentic Turkish folk-dancing.
Local Markets As well as the local market at Gumbet, the entire Bodrum region is home to a wide range of markets open most days. All offer an excellent array of goods and souvenirs, including clothing, leather goods, jewellery, spices, as well as traditional carpets, kilims and rugs, and offer a lively and fun trip out.
Bodrum just a 10 minute dolmus drive is Bodrum, known for its stylish marina and wealth of cosmopolitan shopping, dining and entertainment options. Famous attractions here include the 14th-century Crusader Castle offering spectacular views out across the bay, and an Underwater Archaeological Museum.
Day Trips For those looking to explore the history and culture of the area, there are a host of day trips available from Gumbet, including Dalyan, with its Lycian tombs, turtle beach and mud baths is a popular day trip, and the historic Marmaris, with its colourful bazaar.
