Gumbet
Gumbet is located at the central point of the resort towns ,trips from Gumbet is available to almost all nearby possible destinations. You can either lay down at the beach for long hours, engage yourself in a water sport ,take a long boat trip to nearby places ,take a Dolmus and go to some village nearby or visit the historical monuments and ruins present at Bodrum.
You can also take a taxi (Taxies are also not very expensive) and visit the hills near Gumbet where grave of famous Turkish author Cevat Şakir is present , go to some mosque (follow their culture of covering heads) , tomb , waterparks or have the most popular Turkish Bath /Hammam at some specialized centre.
There are many options to be explored that may not end up in one vacation. Gumbet has active ,noisy nightlife with many numbers of hotels ,restaurants, bars and clubs spread all over the city . Shopping where you can buy more after spending less as compared to Bodrum.
The main Gumbet Beach is one of the longest (600 m ) of peninsula with many facilities for the wide range of water sports like skiing, scuba diving ,windsurfing, boating, motobiking and parasailing. You can lazily stretch out in sun ,have a sunbath for hours here at the beach. Certain areas of Beach are also hilly and shadowy.
You would like the waves hitting the flat sandy beach of Gumbet. There are many shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs behind the Gumbet beach. There are many other beaches close to the Gumbet beach where you can reach by the Dolmus buses, the Bitez, Turgutreis, Torba Beach, Camel Beach and also one is the topless beach.
